An extremely hard stone, were the more experienced sculptors would dare to sculpt. This is a semi precious stone and is becoming increasingly rare to find and has increased in value. Mined as a by-product of corundum it is becoming very hard to find pieces of Verdite that are not completely contaminated. Verdite has a hardness of 8.5-9.2 on the Mohs hardness scale.
